Brief description:

Help Line is a 24 hours phone emergency outreach program for women and girls in distress and in moral danger needing immediate protection and shelter.

Salient Features of the Help Line

            ·          Help Line is a project launched by Govt. of India, Ministry of Human Resource             Development,              Department of Women and Child Development in the collaboration with    voluntary                   organizations.

            ·          24 Hours     :   Help Line is accessible at all times.

             ·          Free Phone :  Women and girls requiring help can call 1092X free of charge

             ·          Emergency :  Services provided from the time of  the call to  the time till  the person is

                                         Rehabilitated.

 The objectives of  the program are

           ·       To provide quality services  to women and girls in need of special care and protection

            ·       To provide Crisis Intervention Services

            ·       To provide referral services like Short  Stay Home, Free Legal Aid, Police Assistance,              

               Counseling, Hospitalization etc.

            ·       To arrange suitable rehabilitation service to the target group

            ·       To provide counseling.

            ·       Awareness, opinion building and documentation.

            ·       Documentation of the type of case being registered, to understand the trends in society.

  

Target Group

Women and girls who have no social protection from exploitation, facing problems of mal-adjustment in society or family, victims of emotional disturbances and social ostracism or being forced into prostitution.

Pattern of assistance – 100% assistance is provided by GOI.
