INTEGRATED PROGRAMME FOR OLDER PERSONS.
An integrated programme for older persons has been formulated by revising the earlier Scheme for Assistance to Voluntary organization for programmes relating to the welfare of the aged. Under this scheme financial assistance up to 90% of the project cost provided to the NGO. The main objective of the schemes building a Society to repair and improve the quality of life of elder persons:-
a) Day Care Centre for the elder persons;
b) Old Age Home for the elder persons;
c) Mobile Medi Care Unit
d) Non Institutional Care for older persons. Pattern of assistance – 90% is provided by Govt. and 10% to be born by the NGOs.
Target group: Persons above 60 years of age, particularly infirm destitute.
