BILATERAL NETWORKING: With CINI ASHA for running sexual health and syndromic treatment clinic for street children at Howrah. 

MULTILATERAL NETWORKING: The NGO has networked with City Level Plan of Action (CLPOA) for the welfare as well as rehabilitation of street and working children. It also conducts sensitisation programmes for law enforcement personnel, which focuses on protection of children.

SUCCESSFUL EXAMPLES: An ambitious project in which every street child of Kolkata and Howrah would be provided identity cards is in process. This project is funded by CLOPA.

SOURCES OF FUNDING: UNICEF; Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India; CARE International; HOPE Foundation Ireland; Comic Relief Trust; FVTF, IGSSS and AIDS control society.

GEOGRAPHICAL AREAS OF OPERATION: Urban areas of Howrah District, Bally municipality and some Panchayat areas.

ACTIVITIES RELATED TO TRAFFICKING AND PREVENTION OF CSE DONE BY NGO:

Though the organisation does not work directly on trafficking of women and children, some of its interventions do help to combat trafficking. The organisation undertakes advocacy on child rights and juvenile justice. The NGO has undertaken advocacy against child marriage and abolition of child labour as well.

In a bid to save children from being sexually exploited, SEED runs a Night Rescue Centre for the street children and destitute boys and girls in the metropolitan city of Kolkata. It also runs a child line network for distressed children and provides out reach services to them.

Through its child line network the distressed children are repatriated to their families and some of them are rehabilitated in their short stay home where they are given  training in different trades like sewing, tailoring and knitting at the vocational training centre. For rehabilitation and economic empowerment of girls it has formed Self Help Groups (SHGs). All these activities towards empowerment and economic self-reliance deter the trafficking of vulnerable girls and women.

OTHER ACTIVITIES: Apart from the above-mentioned activities the organisation has undertaken the following projects:

·        For rural girls it runs vocational training centre cum half way home.

·        It also runs an old age home with multiple services.
