ACTIVITIES
RELATED TO TRAFFICKING AND PREVENTION OF CSE DONE BY NGO:
This organisation works for the prevention of child trafficking and it undertakes documentation and research on this issue.
According to the NGO there are nearly four hundred thousand children in India who are victims of CSE. Amongst the women in prostitution 15% are children below the age of 15 and another 25% are below 18.
In the face of this dismal scenario, SLRTC tries to redirect the children into society. The organisation works for the children and attempts to repatriate them. They also provide counselling and legal help to victims of both national and international trafficking.
The NGO organizes seminars, workshops and symposiums and works with the judiciary, police personnel and Panchayats to generate awareness on trafficking.
The rescued victims are provided free legal aid and individual and group counselling and then efforts are made for their repatriation and restoration to their families, following the due order of the court. The NGOs across the border also help in the repatriation process.
